Video: Record battery capacity deployment in September 2024
In September 2024 a record 84.5 GWh were deployed onto roads in the batteries of all newly sold passenger EVs combined, up 7% over the previous record set in December of last year, and more than double the mere 41.8 GWh deployed in February of this year.
LFP captured 41% of the global market by GWh deployed in September, up from 33% a year ago, while NCM 8-series, 5-series, 7-series and 6-series captured a combined 48% of the market in September, down from 56% the same month last year.
Lastly, if we filter by country of EV manufacture to exclude China, we can see that LFP’s share of the market outside of China is currently a mere 7% while high nickel NCM, NCA and NCMA chemistries dominate.
