From lunar flyby to the West’s mine-to-magnet moonshot
We’re thrilled to share that NASA astronaut and retired U.S. Navy Captain Reid Wiseman – commander of the historic Artemis II mission, the first crewed lunar flyby in more than 50 years – will open the conference as our special guest keynote speaker on September 29th.
Reid is a former F-14 combat pilot and test pilot who spent 165 days aboard the International Space Station (including multiple spacewalks) and later served as Chief of NASA’s Astronaut Office.
In April 2026, Reid commanded Artemis II, climbing atop the most powerful rocket ever built to lead the first crewed mission around the Moon in more than half a century – taking his crew farther from Earth than any humans have ever traveled. Absolute legend.
