Tesla boasts three models among the top 5, Toyota claims two

In September 2019, just five EV models were collectively responsible for 42% of all passenger EV traction motor power (in kW) deployed globally, according to Adamas Intelligence’s latest ‘EV Motor Power Monthly’ report.

In first place, the Tesla Model 3 was responsible for deployment of 11.2 GW of traction motor power globally, an increase of 73% over the amount deployed the same month the year prior.

In second place, the Toyota RAV4 hybrid was responsible for deployment of 2.5 GW of traction motor power globally, an increase of 79% over the amount deployed the same month the year prior.

In third place, the Tesla Model X was responsible for deployment of 2.3 GW of traction motor power globally, a 29% reduction versus the amount deployed in September 2018.

In fourth place, the Tesla Model S was responsible for deployment of 1.4 GW of traction motor power globally, a 61% reduction versus the amount deployed in September 2018.

And lastly, in fifth place, the Toyota Corolla hybrid (a.k.a. Axio / Levin / Fielder) was responsible for deployment of 1.1 GW of traction motor power globally in September 2019, an increase of 90% over the amount deployed the same month the year prior.
